Dual Engineering Program
For students interested in entering engineering and related professions, Roanoke College has partnered with Virginia Tech and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville to provide an opportunity to participate in a dual-degree program in engineering and the liberal arts.
- An attractive alternative to the narrowly focused, traditional engineering curriculum.
- Students begin their studies at Roanoke, gaining a broad intellectual foundation in the liberal arts tradition that includes the mathematics and science needed for engineering as well as the skills necessary to excel as they progress through their careers.
- After three years at Roanoke, students transfer to either Virginia Tech or the University of Tennessee at Knoxville to pursue professional engineering studies for a minimum of two years.
- A grade point average of at least 3.0 at Roanoke College guarantees admission to those engineering schools.
"
Roanoke College has provided me with more than a textbook education.
It has given me the opportunity to explore areas outside my primary field
of study and the benefit of receiving an education from a small institution
that is truly dedicated to its students. I have attended a private liberal arts
college, a research university and a small community college, and I can
say that Roanoke College has left the most lasting impression on me."
