About the Center
The Center for Community Research was created in 1983 by Dr. Gregory Weiss, a professor of sociology at Roanoke College. Dr. Weiss served as the Center's director until 1991 when Dr. Harry Wilson, professor of public affairs, took over its leadership. The Center was originally connected to the sociology department but moved to the public affairs department in 1991.
The research conducted by the Center is made possible through the support of Roanoke College. Students help design and administer surveys and program evaluations under the supervision of the Center's director.

Students Conduct International Court Simulation
“I remember the simulations we did in Warshawsky's classes. They create a connection between domestic and foreign politics that is experienced first hand.”
