FOTQ Friday on the Quad brings students, faculty and the Salem community together on Friday afternoons to celebrate good weather, food, entertainment and friends. FOTQ happens every Friday of first semester, as long as the weather permits. It's a barbecque style buffet that allows students to use their Maroon Cards, the same as a regular commons meal.
Family Weekend Family Weekend is an opportunity for families to come to campus to visit their children and see what life is like at Roanoke College. Families can attend class with their student and have the opportunity to meet with their student's advisor and/or meet with a career services representative to discuss internships and mentorships. Family Weekend also features Fridays on the Quad and an opportunity to see Maroon sports in action, among many other activities. More Information
Alumni Weekend Alumni Weekend brings RC alumni back to their alma mater in a culmination of the Board of Trustees meeting, Alumni Executive Council meeting, Society of 1842 Luncheon and RC Medalist Induction, Cermony Hall of Fame Induction, Ceremony Reunions and general homecoming festivities for all alumni. Relay For Life Relay for Life brings friends and family together to walk for a cure! The annual relay takes place on the Roanoke College campus every year to help raise money to give to the American Cancer Society in order to help find a cure. The walk is a celebration of survivors, as well as the one's we've lost, hoping to inspire everyone to dedicate themselves in some way to help fight back. The back quad is filled with fun events to enjoy when you are not partaking in the walk. Whether it is food in the commons, a moon bounce, or lounging with your friends, the night has endless opportunities for having a good time and feeling proud about your efforts to better peoples lives! Fall Ball Fall Ball is a semi-formal event held every November that allows the whole campus community to get together and have a little fun. Fall Ball features several live bands and DJs, great food, a cash bar and prizes. The event inspires students to dress up and come for a magical night of music and fun.
Founders Day The Founders Day society puts on a series of events to honor Roanoke College's first president David F. Bittle. The day is based on the birthday of the president as well as the founding day of the society. The evening starts with a walk to the local cemetery on the Hill to visit Bittle's grave. After the walk the evening concludes with a large bonfire as well as activities and ceremonies to celebrate the foundation of Roanoke College.
100 Days Party The 100 Days Party is an event that is held for all seniors who are over 21 to have a night with their fellow senior class. It's a night of socializing with classmates, dancing to music or even a live band, karaoke-ing, and drinking with all beer free with a $5 donation fee to the Senior Class Fund. This party happens on the 100th day until graduation, where seniors can officially start their Graduation countdown! More Information
