Senior Scholar Annually, the department may recommend to the Dean as Senior Scholar a student whose work in each of our majors has been most exemplary. In order to be considered, students must have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and must have completed at least 27 units of credit, of which a minimum of 18 units have been earned at Roanoke College. Eligibility is determined from among currently enrolled students on the basis of their academic records as of October 1. Senior Scholars are recognized at the annual convocation on Family Weekend and receive a certificate at the Spring Honors Convocation. Wall Street Journal Award The "Wall Street Journal" Award is presented annually to an outstanding graduating transfer student (20 units or less earned at Roanoke College) in Economics, Computer Information Systems or Business Administration. The recipient receives a year's subscription to the "Wall Street Journal", the "Wall Street Journal" Medal, and will be honored by having his or her name inscribed on the "Wall Street Journal" Plaque. William A. Sandridge Award
This prize is given annually in honor of Dr. William A. Sandridge and is made possible by the faculty of the Business Administration and Economics Department. The recipient is selected by the department faculty from those graduating seniors who have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities both within the department and in the campus community. The recipient is honored by having his or her name inscribed on the William A. Sandridge Plaque. Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants Award of Achievement The Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants Award of Achievement is awarded annually to the outstanding student in accounting. Outstanding Student Awards A prize is presented annually to a senior in Business Administration, Economics and Computer Information Systems who has excelled in the field. Also, a prize is presented annually to a senior who has excelled in the concentrations of Accounting, Finance, Global Business, Health Care Administration, Human Resources Management and Marketing. Honorary Business and Economic Societies The Department of Business Administration recognizes honorary and outstanding students in Delta Mu Delta, the National Honors Society of Business Administration and Omicron Delta Epsilon, the National Economic Honors Society.
