At Roanoke College, the Office of International Education provides many services to both international students and students from the College who wish to study abroad. From immigration forms, to helping a student find a job, to academic counseling, the Office of International Education is there to provide a foundation of support to international students enrolled at the College. Upon arrival at Roanoke College, new international students participate in four days of orientation, including field trips, local excursions and seminars with campus officials. In addition to the Office of International Education, there is a counseling center for use by all students in the Chaplain's Office, a comprehensive academic services office with free tutoring available, pre-registration online,advisors for the first year experience, advanced ESL taught for credit during fall term which includes language lab and conversations with partners, on campus work available for eligible students, alumni network in home countries, host families during the holidays and intervals in the academic calendar and an active International Club for outings, orientation and celebrations. All students have e-mail accounts and personal voice mail accounts. On campus housing is guaranteed, and academic advising is coordinated with the director of international education to comply with ICE requirements.
