Washington Semester Program

Internships in Washington, D.C. are most easily available through the Washington Semester Program, operated by the Luther Institute for a number of Lutheran-affiliated colleges such as Roanoke.

Students live and work in the Nation's Capital. They take two one-unit academic courses and a two unit internship in the office of a member of Congress, a government agency or a non-profit organization, or in other challenging positions. This program is available in the Fall and Spring and is open to Juniors and Seniors in most academic disciplines.

Student placements recently have included the White House, various congressional offices, Amnesty International, the DC Corporation Counsel, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Department of Justice among others.
