"Nothing ventured, nothing gained"
Turned down on an external grant proposal? You could be a candidate for the Most Prestigious Rejection Award. Each year the Office of Academic Grants and Foundation Relations awards a free lunch of choice to the faculty member (who may remain anonymous, of course!) who is turned down by the funding agency with the highest odds. We firmly believe that the effort you put into writing an application will be extremely valuable, whether or not you receive the award. We will recognize and honor you for trying at our annual meeting of the "Don't Ever Give Up" Club. For information on membership in this exclusive club, please contact Ed Hamilton (ext. 2409).
