Greek Life

Greetings from Roanoke College! The Greek community, serving the men and women of Roanoke College, is as strong as it has ever been and is continually improving. There are four nationally recognized men's fraternities on the Roanoke College campus: Sigma Chi, Kappa Alpha, Pi Kappa Alpha, Pi Kappa Phi and five women's fraternities/sororities: Alpha Sigma Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Chi Omega, Delta Gamma, and Phi Mu. These are the only Greek social organizations that are recognized by Roanoke College, and the only ones that we sanction membership in. Men's Fraternities

The Interfraternity Council is the governing body for the men's social Greek organizations. IFC is responsible for organizing and conducting the annual rush events.

• Kappa Alpha (Beta Rho) - ka@roanoke.edu
  A men's national social fraternity, Beta Rho was established in 1924 and re-chartered on April 8, 1988. Member of the Roanoke College Interfraternity Council.
• Pi Kappa Alpha (Phi Chapter) - pika@roanoke.edu
  A men's national social fraternity, Phi chapter was formed in 1896 and revived in 2002. Member of the Roanoke College Interfraternity Council.
• Pi Kappa Phi (Xi Chapter)
  A men's national social fraternity, Xi chapter was formed in 1916 and re-chartered in 2005. Member of the Roanoke College Interfraternity Council.
• Sigma Chi (Tau Chapter) - sigmachi@roanoke.edu
  A men's national social fraternity, Tau Chapter was formed in 1872 and revived in 1923. Member of the Roanoke College Interfraternity Council.

Women's Organizations

The Panhellenic Council is the governing council for the women's Greek letter organizations. Each chapter is represented on the council by three delegates. Panhellenic Council is a member organization of the Student Government Association.

  A women's national social sorority, Theta Beta Chapter was founded in 2002. Member of the National Panhellenic Conference and the Roanoke College Panhellenic Council.

  A women's national social fraternity, Pi Epsilon Chapter was founded in 1955. Member of the National Panhellenic Conference and the Roanoke College Panhellenic Council.
• Delta Gamma - dgamma@roanoke.edu
  A women's national social fraternity, Gamma Pi Chapter was founded in 1955. Member of the National Panhellenic Conference and the Roanoke College Panhellenic Council.
• Phi Mu - phimu@roanoke.edu
  A women's national social fraternity, Gamma Eta Chapter was founded in 1955. Member of the National Panhellenic Conference and the Roanoke College Panhellenic Council.
• Delta Sigma Theta - deltasigmatheta@roanoke.edu
  A women's national sorority, Tau Omega was founded in 2005. They are a tri-campus chartered chapter, with Hollins University and Washington and Lee University. Member of the National Pan-Hellenic Council.
