The Roanoke College Counseling Center is designed to meet the needs of the college community with compassion and honesty. The Counseling Center provides counseling and consultation to Roanoke College students, faculty and staff.

Services are free of charge.
Confidentiality:
All information you share during your counseling sessions is confidential.In some circumstances your counselor may consult with other counselors at the Counseling Center in order to provide you with the best help available. However, no one outside the Center may have access to the specifics of your counseling sessions without your prior written permission, except in cases of medical emergency or other situations where the Counselor, in the exercise of his/her judgment, deems release of such information necessary or advisable.The law in the State of Virginia mandates that information may be appropriately shared if you are in imminent harm to yourself or to others, when there is an indication of child or elder abuse, or as required by a court of law. Further, The Counseling Center's clerical support staff will be aware of your visits and records but they are also committed to maintaining your confidentiality.
Mission:
The mission of the Roanoke College Counseling Center is to make a significant contribution to the academic mission of Roanoke College by addressing the developmental and emotional concerns of the student body. Our goal is to help students reach their full personal and academic potential by providing them with a means to more fully understand and negotiate the complexities of college life.
