SALEM, Va. -In continuing Roanoke College's theme of "Exploration and Discovery" this year, the Jordan endowment will sponsor a lecture by Matthew Restall on Thursday, November 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Colket Center, Wortmann Ballroom. This event is open to the public, and no tickets are required.

Restall is a professor of colonial Latin American history, anthropology and women's studies at Penn State University and will be delivering a speech titled "Debunking the Myths of the Spanish Conquest." He is an accomplished writer and is currently working on his fifth book.

Roanoke College, the country's second oldest Lutheran-related college, is an independent, co-educational, four-year liberal arts college. Roanoke is one of just 276 colleges nationwide with a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most prestigious honor society. The Princeton Review names Roanoke as one of the "best in the Southeast." Roanoke's 2,000 students represent 40 states across the U.S. and 26 foreign countries.
