SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College Choir will present its 23rd annual "Lessons and Carols of Christmas" concert on Sunday, December 2, at 3 and 5 p.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Roanoke. The event is open to the public at no charge.

The concert, which is often called the "unofficial opening of the holiday season in the Valley," will feature traditional and new Christmas music. A free will offering to support Roanoke Area Ministries will be collected. The choir has raised more than $40,000 for the RAM House and local charities through this annual holiday favorite.

Roanoke College, the country's second oldest Lutheran-related college, is an independent, co-educational, four-year liberal arts college. Roanoke is one of just 276 colleges nationwide with a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most prestigious honor society. The Princeton Review names Roanoke as one of the "best in the Southeast." Roanoke's 2,000 students represent 40 states across the U.S. and 26 foreign countries.
