Independent Study
Foreign language students with special interests may conduct independent study projects. Conducting an independent study provides the qualified student with an opportunity for in-depth research into their topic of choice. Students complete projects while working closely with a member of the faculty.

“I try really hard to bring my research into the class,” says Willingham. “We’re actually expected to do research and teach at Roanoke. I’m expected to back up what I teach with a degree of scholarly expertise.”
