SALEM, Va.--Roanoke College will host 2007 Pulitzer Prize winner Hank Klibanoff, Thursday, March 27 at 4:45 p.m. in the Colket Center, Garrett Meeting Room. Klibanoff will speak about his work as a reporter, writer and editor in some of the finest newspapers and journals today. This event is open to the public at no charge.

Klibanoff was a reporter for the Boston Globe as well as the Deputy Managing Editor for The Philadelphia Inquirer, where he worked for twenty years. He is now one of the managing editors for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. In 2007, Klibanoff received the Pulitzer Prize for history for his book The Race Beat: The Press, the Civil Rights Struggle, and the Awakening of a Nation, co-written with Gene Roberts.

Klibanoff's visit is sponsored by the Jordan Endowment and the Office of Multicultural Affairs.

Roanoke College, the country's second oldest Lutheran-related college, is an independent, co-educational, four-year liberal arts college. Roanoke is one of just 276 colleges nationwide with a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most prestigious honor society. The Princeton Review names Roanoke as one of the "best in the Southeast." Roanoke's 2,000 students represent 40 states across the U.S. and 26 foreign countries.
