Department:  Campus Safety

Location:  Administrative Office, Bowman Hall

Description/Qualifications:  Seeking Student Worker for front office of Campus Safety. Hours needed will be between 8:00am ? 4:30pm, Monday ? Friday. Approximately 5-10 hours per week during the school year and more over breaks and summer. The Student worker?s perform basic office functions including, but not limited to answering the phone, filing and data entry. Student will also perform dispatching duties and act as a first response to campus emergencies. Work Study preferred but not required. Description/Qualifications:  Lifeguard needed to provide coverage for swim hours at Alumni Gym Pool. Must have water safety/cpr Red Cross certification. Interested students should contact Scott Allison at allison@roanoke.edu, 540-375-2337.


Department: Athletic Communications 

Supervisor:  Brad Moore

Available to:  work-study or non-work-study students, or intern candidates

Available for:  year-round position for student employee; semester appointment for Fall 2008 for a student intern.

Description/Qualifications:  sports information intern, student assistant and/or student workers in the athletic communications department. Duties include handling some media relations responsibilities for several of Roanoke's 19 intercollegiate sports, which include, but are not limited to; overseeing day-to-day operations of assigned sports; writing player bios; design and layout of media guides and game-day programs; updating the athletics website; and operating computer programs including PhotoShop, InDesign, and other duties assigned by the Sports Information Director. The successful candidate must be willing to work some nights and weekends.  Candidates should possess knowledge of college athletics, Microsoft Office applications and be willing to work some nights and weekends. Preference will be given to those with strong written and oral communication skills. Flexible work schedule is available. Description/Qualifications:   America Reads Tutoring Opportunity The Center for Community Service is seeking students dedicated to helping Roanoke City students succeed in school. We are looking for anyone with their own transportation to tutor/mentor for up to eight hours a week. Schedules flexible. Pays $10.00hr. Several positions are still available.
