• There are many opportunities to conduct meaningful research with professors or as part of a group project within the psychology major. These experiences are invaluable preparation for graduate psychology colleges, or the workforce.
• With Roanoke's diverse student population coming from 41 states and 22 different countries makes for exciting classroom discussions and a unique learning environment.
• An average class size of 18 students allows you to work close with your peers and professors.
• Professors have received degrees at psychology colleges such as Princeton University, George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University, and Pennsylvania State University.
• In addition to the psychology major, students can also earn a concentration in Human Development.
• The department offers two different psychology degrees- - B.S. psychology degree and B.A. psychology degree.
• Students who pursue a psychology major will graduate with excellent research and critical thinking skills.
• Recent Roanoke alumni have pursued graduate study at psychology colleges such as the University of Georgia, the University of Indiana, Spalding University, James Madison University, Virginia Tech, University of Pennsylvania and the University of Richmond.

Psi Chi,  the national honor society in psychology, is for students who maintain superior achievement within the psychology major.
The Roanoke College Student Association, a psychology club, is open to all students, regardless of being a psychology major.
